CCT College Dublin students have received great recognition again at this year’s HECA Student Research Awards. Out of a large number of student submissions to the Judging Panel, two of our BSc (Hons) in Computing and IT students achieved 1st place this year for their submission on Developing a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) Model for Facial Expression Recognition (FER). Huge congratulations to Leonardo Diesel and to Danrlei Da Silva Martins for this incredible achievement.

Also, two more students received Special Recognition for their submissions:

• Caroline Floss Bresolin (Graduate of our HDIP in Science in Data Analytics for Business) for her project on Insurance Fraud Detection.

• Daniela Mariano Barreto (Graduate of our HDIP in Science in Data Analytics for Business) for her project on Applied Machine Learning Models to Estimate Material to adsorb CO2
