9th International Conference on Engaging Pedagogy announced

CCT is proud to relay news of the announcement of the 9th International Conference on Engaging Pedagogy. CCT has a long history with ICEP with several members of faculty serving on conference committees. In 2015 CCT hosted the conference under the leadership of CCT’s own Graham Glanville who served as conference chair. CCT staff have also published a number of papers at past ICEP conferences.

The 2016 ICEP conference is being held at Maynooth University on December 1&2 2016. The conference theme is Voice of the Educator: Connected and Inclusive Learning Environments. The call for papers is out now.

The International Conference on Engaging Pedagogy (ICEP) is an annual event that brings together researchers and practitioners in the field of third-level teaching in order to discuss means and methods of improving student engagement. The conference format includes standard paper and poster presentations intermingled with workshops and panel style discussions. 2015 is the eighth year of the ICEP conference series, its aim to further discussion and collaboration amongst researchers and practitioners in third level teaching and learning. In particular, the founders noticed that students appeared to be less engaged with material with each passing year. The conference is themed around one central principle – how can we as educators make education more engaging for our students?

The first ICEP conference was in 2008 and has since taken place in Maynooth University, University College Dublin, Griffith College Dublin, the National College of Ireland, the Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown, the Institute of Technology, Sligo and the Athlone Institute of Technology and the College of Computing Technology. The 2016 Conference is being hosted again by Maynooth University.
