Jobs boost as Irish net traffic sees huge rise

IRISH internet traffic is multiplying by 200pc per year, according to new research. Critical data-hosting market in Ireland is expanding by 18pc a year. The revelation came as Research Minister Sean Sherlock hailed the expansion of an Internet data centre as vital to ensuring a geographic counterpoint to Dublin-based IT developments. The expansion of Ireland’s data-hosting sector – estimated at 18pc per year – is outpacing the growth of the same sector in the UK and Europe.
