David Gonzalez Guest lecturer in Dev Ops at CCT College Dublin

David Gonzalez Dev Ops ‘how to’ guest lecture at CCT College Dublin

We were recently delighted to have David Gonzalez from NearForm in to speak with our BSc in Information Technology students about the emergence of Dev Ops as an in demand skillset required of engineers and developers by their companies. David comes with a wealth of knowledge from NearForm, he is a Google developer expert and is also heavily involved in the Node.js Security working group. He also teaches the Cloud Based Web Applications module on the Postgraduate Higher Diploma in Science in Computing here at CCT College and is a regular speaker at conferences on his areas of expertise. CCT College Dublin has also recently introduced a professional evening Diploma course in Dev Ops for junior engineers and developers.

David started out as a Java Developer and became interested in automation and how to scale companies using processes to improve efficiencies and ultimately make them more successful. He spoke to the undergraduate student group about how companies like Revolut and Stripe have adopted these transformative processes with great success. According to David, Dev Ops is to technology what management consulting is to business. Not only automation but transformation. He also shared some advice with our students on how to become a Dev Ops Engineer.

David has literally written the book on this subject, ‘Implementing Modern Dev Ops’. His other titles include ‘Developing Microservices with Node.js’ and ‘Microservices: Building Scalable Software’.

Find out more here about the professional evening course, Diploma in Dev Ops, offered September and February, at CCT College Dublin.
