CCT Policy Statement on Equality

The College of Computing Technology (CCT) is committed to delivering programmes of education and training whilst providing all other related services, in a manner which accommodates diversity, combats discrimination and promotes equality of opportunity.

CCT is also committed to continually developing, monitoring and supporting a policy of equality in employment, service provision and anti harassment. It aims to create the conditions whereby learners, staff and all others associated with the College are treated equally regardless of gender, disability, sexual orientation, race, membership of the Traveller Community, religious beliefs, age, marital status, family status, ethnicity, or nationality.

The main aim of the policy is to ensure no job applicant, employee, prospective learner, and registered learner, receives less favourable treatment due to gender, disability, sexual orientation, race, membership of the Traveller Community, religious beliefs, age, marital status or family status.

CCT is committed to promoting equality of access to the college.

Aim and Objectives

The overall aim of the CCT Equality Policy is to promote equality of opportunity for all employees, students and any member of the campus community, and to create an environment which respects and accommodates diversity, combats discrimination and
promotes equality of opportunity. This aim includes the recognition of the college to assign this policy with procedures for implementation and handling discrimination complaints.

The specific objectives are:

  • To ensure that all individuals are recruited, selected, promoted and otherwise treated solely on the basis of personal merit and the application of relevant selection criteria. All related policies and procedures will be operated in a manner that reinforces this commitment.
  • To create a working and learning environment in which all members of the college community are treated with dignity and respect. CCT is committed to providing an environment that is free from any form of harassment, bullying or victimization.
  • To develop and implement a positive action programme to ensure that this policy is effected through management decisions and administrative practices.
