Programme Overview and Audience
Formerly known as the MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) certification, the Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Server Administrator (MCITP: Server Administrator) credential is one of the leading certifications for Windows Server 2008, providing a widely recognised, objective validation of your ability to perform critical, current IT job roles by using Microsoft technologies to their best advantage. The entry requirements for the MCITP Microsoft Certified IT Professional – Server Administrator  is that MCTIP candidates should have successfully completed the CompTIA A+ / CompTIA Network+ and/or have 6–12 months experience administering client and network operating systems.  All applicants must have competence in spoken and written English

The main aim of the MCITP Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Server Administrator Course is to demonstrate the skills and knowledge to successfully manage and troubleshoot system environments.

The programme also;

  • Focuses on a specific job role, allowing for in-depth validation of your skill set.
  • Allows you to earn more than one MCITP certification, demonstrating your abilities across multiple roles.
  • Builds on a combination of Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) prerequisites, helping you develop your technical resume with each step in your MCITP career path.

Programme Content
The MCITP Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Server Administrator Course prepares candidates directly for the following Microsoft examinations:

Exam: 72-640 – TS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring.
Exam: 72-642 – TS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring.
Exam: 72-646 – PRO: Windows Server 2008, Server Administrator.

Microsoft Official Academic Curriculum Materials are used in the delivery of all courses listed above.

Assessment
Students will sit the Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Server Administrator Examinations on-line at the Prometric testing centre facility, in CCT

Progression to MCITP Enterprise Administrator. MCITP: Server Administrator and MCITP: Enterprise Administrator job roles are distinct.
