Diploma in Computerised (and manual) Accounts and Payroll

The Finance function is the heart of an organisation’s success and an essential element to the long term success of an organisation. This computerised accounts and payroll course provides the learner with experience in a leading software that will enhance the learners opportunity to gain employment in most small to medium enterprises. Sage currently employ 13,000 employees across the globe. It is the primary accounts package for small to medium businesses. The Payroll part of the course is taught using thesaurus payroll, which is the payroll software market leader in Ireland.

CCT College Dublin Professional Certification confirms the successful completion of the Diploma in Computerised (and manual) Accounts and Payroll. Professional Certification supports career advancement through verification of upskilling. This programme does not lead to an award on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).

Bookkeeping Overview

  • Understanding how computerised accounts software sage operates as a triple integrated accounting system
  • Setting up new business, setting parameters and settings
  • Setting up access rights
  • Set Financial year and Date
  • Building customer/supplier and bank records
  • Creating Tax codes
  • Operate the viewing system of the modules

Operating Software

  • Posting of customer invoices/Credit notes
  • Posting of supplier invoices/Credit notes
  • Posting and allocating customer and supplier receipts and payments
  • Operating and using bank module for booking bank receipts and payments
  • Correction of errors/ Delete transactions
  • Process refunds to suppliers and customers
  • Process journals

Reporting

  • Prepare a bank reconciliation
  • Prepare a VAT 3 vat return
  • Produce and Print a Trial Balance and check COA
  • Produce and Print a Profit and Loss
  • Produce and Print a balance sheet

Payroll Overview

  • Payroll Fundamentals

  • Employee annual leave entitlements
  • Emergency Tax, Month one Basis and Cumulative Basis
