Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Course Overview
This full-time programme is ideal for any learner with an interest and motivation to embark on a business, management, accounting career. Students will build upon their introduction to business and management functions to develop a range of skills, including analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary in the modern business environment. No pre-requisite knowledge of business is required to commence this course, but previous knowledge, skills or competence in the area would be advantageous.

Course Aims
The overall aim of this programme leading to the award of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), is to develop a range of skills, including analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary in the modern business environment. It is envision that graduates will be able to fulfil a wide range of entry-level to middle-level roles within the industry, and /or engage in further study in a wide range of areas within business at equivalent to Irish NQF Level 7, to further develop their careers.

 Entry Requirements
Any experience within the Business sector will be advantageous, as well as a Higher Certificate or Diploma level certification in the subject area of Business Administration and/or Business Management.  Minimum academic entry requirements for under 23 year old applicants are: at least 2 Higher Level C3s and 4 passes at Ordinary level in the Irish Leaving Certificate including Maths and a language. Students from overseas should have secured a High School Diploma qualification.  International learners whose first language is not English should have achieved a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or the following TOEFL equivalencies: TOEFL CBT – 183 / TOEFL IBT – 65.  Should you not have a high school qualification, you may still be considered for acceptance based on suitable work experience within the Business sector, over a 5-6 year period.  Any application based on work experience merit, would have to be supported by reference documentation.

Course Content
The following modules are taken over a 3 year period, with core modules mandatory to complete.  To be awarded the Bachelor degree, the learner needs to successfully complete 240 credits in total.
