Course Audience
ECDL / ICDL  Advanced is a higher-level programme designed for those who have successfully reached ECDL / ICDL skills levels and wish to further enhance their computer proficiency.

Course Overview
ECDL / ICDL Advanced covers 4 main advanced modules. The ECDL / ICDL Advanced modules give Candidates the opportunity to become expert in the use of these applications, acquiring skills sets over and above the routine features of the software. Each Advanced module has been designed as a stand-alone certification in each respective area and Candidates who successfully complete a module will be certified as Advanced users in that application. Each Module typically requires 8-15 hours of training prior to testing, although Candidates may forego training if they choose (assuming they already have advanced skills). There are various ECDL Foundation approved and locally approved training materials (books and computer based training) available so that a Candidate can learn in their own time.

Course Content
Module 1: Advanced Word Processing
Module 2: Advanced Spreadsheets
Module 3: Advanced Database
Module 4: Advanced Presentation

Assessment
Each Module is assessed in a one-hour Test. On successful completion of each Advanced Test, Candidates are awarded Advanced certification in that Module.

Candidates who choose to complete all four Advanced modules are awarded with the new ECDL / ICDL Expert certification, signifying expert-level ECDL / ICDL competence.

Course Objectives
To become advanced / expert users in each of the course applications, and achieve a pass in all 4 ECDL Advanced exams and obtain the ECDL Advanced certificate.

Awarded By
Approved centres and test centres are those only permitted to deliver this programme. Auditing procedures are carried out by ICS-Skills, this course is awarded by ICS-Skills in Ireland. (ICS-Skills are the skills and certification body of the Irish Computer Society.
