400 tech jobs announced at Web Summit

A total of 400 jobs have been announced by eight companies in the tech sector.

The firms from North America and Europe will create the new positions in Cork, Dublin and Galway over the next three years.

The announcement was made by the Taoiseach and Minister for Jobs at an IDA event in Dublin, taking place on the fringes of the Web Summit.

The new jobs cross a range of sectors, including software development, telecoms, internet and social media.

The largest number of new positions will be created by Atlanta-based sales execution and digital marketing firm N3 Results, which will create at least 100 jobs in Dublin over the next three to five years.

Sprout Social, a social media management and engagement platform for business, will create 85 jobs with the opening of an Irish base to service Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The other companies include SimpliVity, Udemy, Boomerang Pharmaceutical, SNP Communications, Perseus Telecom and HedgeGuard.
